Now the reason for this is a pretty simple one, and one that affects just about all aspects of manufacturing – economics. It costs more to produce a product in a foreign country than it does in your home country. By the same token, it costs less to buy raw materials from a foreign manufacturer than it does to hire local labor to build your factory. By buying local and saving on labor, you’re able to build your company a much bigger profit margin when you sell a hot tub in your local community. The same thing goes when you decide to buy a swim spa manufacturer.
So, just why is it that so many hot tub manufacturers choose to build their manufacturing operations in the United States? There are a few reasons that come to mind here, and some of these reasons are more important to the manufacturer than others. Some of these reasons to a significant degree include lower taxes and incentives available to foreign companies in the United States, higher labor rates available in the United States, and the relative proximity of the United States to most foreign markets.
Now, while the reasons above tend to contribute to a greater share of hot tub manufacturer companies that are located in the United States, this does not mean that all hot tub brands that you find locally will be produced in the United States. As noted above, nearly all manufacturers build their entire hot tub line overseas. Still, even though they may be based in other countries, many manufacturers will choose to source parts and materials from the United States. The reason for this is not primarily because the hot tub industry is a rapidly expanding one – it is because many of these manufacturers choose to build most of their components in the United States, as well.
This brings us to our third reason why so many hot tub makers choose to build in the United States: the cost of labor in this country is lower than in any other country. When you factor in the cost of shipping, taxes, and incentives, the cost of labor in this country is less than almost any other country in the world. In fact, there are many workers in this country that make their living building hot tubs. You might even have a relative who is a hot tub manufacturer, and you can bet that they wouldn’t be willing to ship their tub to you if it meant a hefty price bill. When a hot tub manufacturer in the United States builds your tub, you generally pay far less than you would in any other country.
This is just a quick list of some of the reasons that people prefer to buy hot tubs from companies located in America, rather than those in other countries. As you can see, the benefits of purchasing your tub from a manufacturer located in the United States makes for an excellent choice – and for good reason.
